Church MinistriesFollowing is a list of the ministries College Park uses to reach out to our community. Click on the Ministry of Interest The nursery ministry is available during our worship services on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights. Children from birth to 3 years of age are welcomed with open arms and given the best care here at College Park. Once your child turns 3 years of age, they will be moved into Xtreme Kids where they will experience a whole new level of Children's Ministry. For additional information or questions regarding Nursery Ministry, please call our church office at 864-246-9000. Men's MinistriesIt is our belief that the priest of each home needs to be the father. Though we recognize that this is not always possible, since all fathers do not profess a relationship with Jesus Christ nor are all fathers present in every home, we do endeavor to provide for men an avenue of instruction as to what is expected of godly men, and also to provide for them support and accountability from other men. This is done through our local men's group, but also through national men's groups such as Promise Keepers and the Salt & Pepper Ministry. Women's Ministries
Women's Ministries play a very active part in the ministries
here, and they are divided into two channels: (1) Support of mission work
in Sierra Leone and other mission endeavors in South America and India;
and (2) Support of women at the local level.
We also endeavor to raise the value of each woman who attends our church
or who participates in our church ministries by providing for them meetings
(with guest speakers), banquets (such as Mother-Daughter), programs (such
as First Place), etc. which will add to their self-image and build their
self-respect.
Visit the Oasis Youth Ministries website Oasis Youth Ministries meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Oasis Worship Center at the College Park Church. It is a night set aside for High School and Middle School teens to come together and have a different variety of Praise & Worship, Heart to Heart Teaching, Giveaways, and Relationships with other teens. The Oasis has their own Youth Drama/Dance Team and is open at specific times of the year to those that desire to be a part of this ministry. Come see us and experience The Oasis Youth Ministries. You WILL be BLESSED! For more information about Oasis Youth Ministries, please feel free to call our church office at 864-246-9000 and speak to Pastor Tim Register. Another division of our Youth ministries is with DRIVEN Ministries. This is an awesome opportunity for the College and Careers group to come together and connect with one another. This ministry is led by Pastors Charles and LaTonya White. They have a heart for the college and careers. Their desire in this ministry is to see the spiritual, social, and academic needs met of each college and career student that they come in contact with. For more information about DRIVEN Ministries, please contact Pastors Charles & LaTonya White at 864-238-0054. Children's MinistriesAt College Park Worship Center we are ALL ABOUT KIDS. Xtreme Kids meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. We have our own "HOUSE" to worship in, which is located on the grounds of the College Park Worship Center. We have a lot of fund during our own church service. The atmosphere in the Kids House is bright, fun, and friendly. We have free time for the first 10 minutes; this is a time where the kids can play games in the game room, read, or just talk with each other. Following free time, we come into the worship area where we have "Kids Church." We have Praise & Worship, a Time of Giving our Offering, Bible Verses along with Games, and Teaching that kids can relate to. The kids love to worship the Lord. We always have an "Open Door" during service times to our parents that want to come and see what College Park Xtreme Kids is all about. Come and be a part of a wonderful, vibrant ministry with the College Park Children. For more information, please contact our Pastor of Children's Ministries, Lori Register, at 864-246-9000. Sunday School MinistriesEvery Sunday morning at 9:00, teaching of God's Word takes precedent here at College Park. With able and qualified teachers, lessons are not taught, but people are; and the desired end result is that in the days, months, and years to come a generation will be raised up which will not only know what God's Word says but will share in the spreading of that gospel, whether inside the four walls of the church or outside where so many of the lost happen to be. Where so many churches are relegating this ministry to another time, we have a strong commitment to continue teaching God's Word every Sunday morning! Music MinistriesMusic, to say the least, is a very integral part of worship here at College Park. We feel that we have one of the finest music programs anywhere, and some of the very best talent that can be found. Our Music Minister has a strong commitment, not just to quality music, but music that goes even beyond touching the soul all the way to touching the heart! For those who enjoy participating in a music program we have a choir, an ensemble, and opportunity to be a part of a group or sing individually. For those who like to make music on an instrument, we also have special practices for our church band. Athletics MinistriesSome may pose an argument that athletics is not a ministry; however, here at College Park we believe that it is, and if it is not it does not need to exist. We attempt each year to have men's and ladies' softball teams, and we presently have basketball teams for grades k-2, 3-5, and 9-12. We have a very active Athletic Director and assistant and an Athletic Committee that has the general oversight of the program. Though we enjoying winning as much as anyone else, our goal is not to win games, but to win in character-building and Christ-like teaching. Outreach MinistryOutreach is a multi-purposed ministry at College Park. One of our main goals is to be a "spiritual hospital" in the Berea Community. Ways in which we attempt to accomplish this is 1) By caring for the "Golden Agers" of our congregation, 2) By ministering to the new families in our community, 3) By supporting our church families in times of loss, 4) By showing those who visit our services that we truly care for them through visitation or correspondence, 5) By assisting, when possible, those who have experienced tragedies in their lives, 6) By actively visiting those who may be homebound or patients in hospitals or extended care facilities. |
